Oticon Summer Camp 2007

10th Annual Oticon Summer Camp
"The Decision Process"

The 10th annual Oticon Summer Camp will take place July 28th through August 2nd in Keystone Colorado.  The camp is open to all students in residence graduate programs in Audiology in North America.  This year, we will focus on the Decision Process that professionals and patients go through together.  We will focus on the information we gather from patients at all stages in the process and how this input is used to guide clinical care in amplification.

We have two guest faculty members this year.   Anne Marie Tharpe, Ph.D. of Vanderbilt University will focus on the assessment and management of children with hearing loss.  Mark Flynn, Ph.D. of Cochlear will discuss the decision making process for implantable systems, including cochlear implants, bi-modal stimulation and bone anchored systems. We will also have a special session during which a group of audiologists will describe the process of establishing and maintaining a healthy private practice.

Participants will be the guests of Oticon, Inc., thus expenses for tuition, lodging and most meals will be covered by Oticon, Inc.  Participants will have to provide their own transportation to Keystone, Colorado.  Upon arrival at the camp, Oticon will provide a $150 travel re-imbursement to all attending students.

In addition, each application must be accompanied by a $25 registration fee.  This fee is fully refundable up to 30 days prior to the camp. Double occupancy accommodations will be provided in condominium facilities.

Plan for arrival Saturday, July 28th and departure Thursday, August 2nd.
