Custom-made hearing instruments
The Adapto CIC, ITC and ITE are custom made for your ears. To match your skin tone the instrument can be made in pink, tan, medium brown, and dark brown colors.

Adapto CIC (Completely-In-the-Canal)
This is the smallest type of hearing aid available and it is almost invisible in the ear. All the components are housed in a small case that fits far into the ear canal.

CIC instruments are restricted to people with ear canals large enough to accommodate the whole depth of the instrument into the ear. Also, the CIC style uses a very small battery that requires good manual dexterity. This type of hearing aid is not suitable for people with severe hearing losses.

Adapto ITC (In-the-Canal)
A little bigger than the CIC, the ITC style also fits far into the ear canal. This style allows for more open ear fittings. Canal hearing aids use a slightly larger battery than the CIC. This style is used for mild to moderate hearing losses.

Adapto ITE (In-the-Ear)
ITE hearing aids can be used for a wider range of hearing losses. Due to their larger size, ITEs can accommodate larger sound amplifiers and more features, such as a telephone switch. They are also easier to handle for many people.

Adapto ITE instruments are available with directionality or an extra listening program

Adapto BTE (Behind-the-Ear)
In BTE hearing aids the electronics are housed in a case that fits behind the ear. Tubing and a custom-made earmold direct the sound to the ear canal.

BTE hearing aids provide more amplification than smaller devices due to the stronger amplifier and larger battery.

The Adapto BTE is available in several colors to help you closely match your hair and skin color. The following colors are available: beige, light brown, dark brown, light gray, and dark gray.

If you prefer cool colors the Adapto BTE is also available in yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, green and transparent. These colors are popuar with kids.

Adapto BTE instruments are available with directionality or an extra listening program

BTEs come with a number of optional accessories:

  • Tamper-resistant battery drawer
  • DAI and WTC shoes for FM systems
  • Eyeglass adaptor

Directional hearing instruments
Directionality is ideal for people who need to focus on sounds coming from directly in front.

Directional instruments (D) have two programs: Surround Program and Direct Program. In the Surround Program you can listen to sounds coming from any direction. In the Direct Program you will only hear sounds coming from directly in front.

Both the BTE and ITE come in a directional version ensuring superior speech understanding in even the most difficult listening situations.

Multi-Program instruments
Multi-program instruments are made for people who require flexible performance in a hearing aid. many people find themselves in noisy environments during the dayand quiet nights at home watching TV. In this case it is possible to adjust the different programs in the instrument so that they are suitable for very different listening situations.
